About Heartdance
HeartDance Foundation, established in 2008, is a volunteer-led organization driven by lived experienced experts dedicated to combating sexual exploitation and human trafficking. We assist victims and survivors, offer specialized human trafficking training to businesses, churches and community, implement strip club outreach, spiritual retreats, connections to workforce development, and provide education to engage in legislative advocacy. All services and initiatives are delivered by volunteers who generously contribute their time and talents without financial gain.

FAQs
HeartDance Strip Club Ministry Outreach
-
It’s a form of ministry where volunteers intentionally build relationships with dancers, staff, and others working in the adult entertainment industry, showing the love of Christ through practical care, encouragement, and non-judgmental presence.
-
Strip clubs often serve as environments where individuals may face isolation, stigma, exploitation, or financial pressure. Outreach can bring hope, community, and resources to those who may not otherwise connect with a supportive, safe network.
-
Yes—most ministries require training on:
· Club culture & safety
· Trauma-informed care
· Boundaries & ethics
· Human trafficking awareness
· Confidentiality (We do not discuss encounters and information about the dancers, bouncers, or managers outside of the ministry. Pictures and selfies are not permitted to be taken outside of fellowship dinner for safety and confidentiality reasons.)
· Volunteers will be verbally approved by the Director or assigned lead, to enter clubs before each outreach
Volunteers will be 21 years old or older to enter the clubs.
-
Many ministries start by building trust with club managers or owners, often by delivering small, respectful gifts and introducing themselves without an agenda. Sometimes a long period of relationship-building is needed before access is granted.
-
· Dress modestly, neutrally, and professionally—nothing flashy or revealing.
· For women: loose-fitting tops, jeans/slacks, closed-toe shoes.
· For men (if involved): business casual with a non-threatening demeanor.
· Avoid anything that draws unnecessary attention. (Avoid wearing white, as it might glow in the dark.)
-
· Thoughtful, non-preachy gifts (snacks, lotions, handwritten notes)
· Contact info for local support services
· Prayer cards (if appropriate and welcomed)
· A warm smile and listening ear
Avoid tracts or judgmental messaging.
-
It can be safe with proper planning:
· Always go in teams (only females go in clubs – men stay outside)
· Have a point person outside aware of your visit and location
· Be aware of your surroundings and respect club rules
· Never meet alone with someone in a private area
-
By remembering that your role is not to “fix” people but to reflect Christ’s love. Listen more than you speak, honor their dignity, and avoid shaming language
-
We encourage you to be led by the Holy Spirit. Relationships take time, and most outreach starts by simply showing kindness and consistency. Spiritual conversations often happen naturally as trust builds.
-
· Listen without shock or judgment
· Ask if they want help or resources
· Provide local hotlines, shelters, and trafficking help lines
· Follow mandatory reporting laws in your area
-
Debrief with your team, pray together, and practice self-care. Secondary trauma is real—make space for rest and emotional processing.
-
Not by numbers or quick results, but by:
· Consistence of visits
· Trust built over time
· Opportunities for deeper connection
· Signs of hope, healing, and restored dignity
"Too Close to Home"
Tampa is known for its many strip clubs and adult entertainment establishments, which are grooming grounds for sex trafficking.

The Tampa Underground Network
Heartdance Foundation is a member of the Tampa Underground Network - a network of ministries and "microchurches" that inspires, empowers, engages, and connects leaders in the city.
